Who are the People I have worked with?
They are:
- People who care about others, don’t like being labeled and are done with feeling tired and upset.
- People who are ready to work on changes, just as soon as they figure out what those changes might be.
- People feeling desperate for a change, who are worried that something truly devastating may be around the next corner.
- People who like images and words.
- People whose values, hopes and dreams persist in spite of problems.
Do you fit this description?

If this IS you- then why not sign up for my e-journal?
It is free, and I promise it will be informative. And I would love to hear from you with thoughts, questions and suggestions for articles. Click to Sign Up
Writing my e-journal for an interested audience motivates me, clarifies my thinking, inspires me to share what I am learning and to ask important questions of myself and others. This makes me a better therapist, and builds my sense of community and contribution- two main reasons that I do the work I do. To thank you for signing up I will send you a set of workbooks that introduce problem dissolving approaches that you can try out right away.
It’s something for me, something for you!
And like all good e-journalists, I will remove you from my list the moment you ask me to, and never share your information with anyone!
More about how I got here…
We moved to Toronto in 1997, and I began my University studies part-time. I carried on working in communities, offering informal counselling, anti-violence groups with youth, and after-school programs for stressed out kids.
Finally, in 2007, I finished my Master’s Degree in Social Work and began working with individuals and families outside of agency settings. I continue to do volunteer therapy, and community work as a way to reach out and learn with as many people as I can. I also take professional development courses and participate in discussion groups with other therapists to stay fresh. I am a serious student of Narrative Therapy approaches and have taken post-graduate training in this area.
I am a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers and the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
What that means for my clients is that I take my work and my profession very seriously, continuously adding research and theory to the valuable lessons taught to me by families.
What I do for fun…
My husband is a musician- and that is fun! I paint and garden to stay connected in the present moment and keep mentally and emotionally healthy. And I continue to study, write and learn every day. We have friends and family in far-flung places, and travel by air and by Web to stay in touch. We also have Lots of Cats, but that is another story!
